Meade Stella Overview

Expand your Go-To telescope's capabilities with the addition of the Meade Instruments Stella Wi-Fi Adapter. When powered on and connected to the mount's hand controller, Stella generates its own local Wi-Fi signal that you can use to connect it to a smartphone or tablet running the StellaAccess app for Android or iOS devices. If multiple Stellas are in use - such as at star parties - the unit supports password protection to limit connectivity and prevent control issues.

Using your mobile device and the app provides a full-color graphical touch-screen interface to control your mount plus the addition of star charts, guided tours, audio commentary, sky simulations, encyclopedic descriptions of celestial objects, compass/gyro support for alignment assistance, and access to a database of over 2.5 million objects.

An internal rechargeable battery will run the Stella from between 4-8 hours, depending on usage, or it can be directly powered by the included 110VAC power cord. The Stella's firmware is updateable via the internet connection through the StellaAccess app.

Connection of the Stella to different hand-controllers requires optional cable kits to meet the specific requirements of different mounts and controllers. These are required to properly use the Stella. For Meade AutoStar and AudioStar use the Meade #505 cable set, for their AutoStar II use the Meade #507 cable set, and the AutoStar III requires a USB AVB cable.
